Nearly time to perform

Friday 8th May 2015 

Our final play performance is close and we cannot wait to show the other Year 3 children the play we scripted ourselves. 

We have been busy rehearsing and we definitely think that our play belongs on Broadway! 

Here is just a sneaky peak. We promise to share the whole play with you at the end of next week. 

SPORTS DAY 2015

Tuesday 5th May 2015 

What a fabulous day we have had! Sports day 2015 was amazing and we loved every minute of it. 

We would like to say a BIG thank you to Miss Gray and Miss Purewal for all their hard work. 

Everyone showed great team spirit and everyone tried their best. 

Well done to Adams, Summers, Glover and Hearn. 

A BIG congratulations to Year 2 Hearn who took the trophy home and a HUGE congratulations to Year 3 Adams for winning their trophy as well. 

We can not wait to see who will be crowned the king of sports day 2015.

Sports Day Practice

Wednesday 29th April 2015

Over the past few weeks we have been busy at track practising for sports day! We have been practising the hurdles, 100m spirit and 400m relay. In school we have also been practising our throwing, catching and long jump skills.We cannot wait for sports day!

Maths Maths and more Maths!!

Friday 24th April 2015 

If you came to school and realised you were going to do Numeracy all day how would you feel? Well today that is what happened in 3P. Well maybe it was not all day but we did do a lot of Numeracy and it was FUN! and EXCITING! and totally INSPIRING!

Today we have had the opportunity to play the Numeracy games we have created for home learning. We had a lot of fun getting to grips with the instructions and then battling it out to see who would be crowned the winner. There were so many different games and each one had its own personal touches.

In addition to this, we also learnt how to use a Japanese abacus thanks to Maia and Lulu. It was a little challenging at first but after a couple of practices we started to understand how to use it. We enjoyed this so much that we are going to have another practice next week. 3P are going to become abacus experts!

Wednesday 15th April 2015

Do you enjoy going to the theatre? Well today we brought the theatre to 3P. 

Who were the actors? The wonderful 3P of course. Who needs Brad Pitt when you have all of us! 

Today we started to look at the structure of play scripts and how they differ from the other stories we have read. 
Here are some of the things we noticed: 
- Play scripts include a character list.
- The use the characters name before the text to indicate who is talking. 
- They do not use said words or speech marks.
- Play scripts use italics to indicate an action. 
- Play scripts include stage directions for both actors and those involved in the production. 

Plus lots more. 

Once we had done this we decided to act out a few of the play scripts we had.

Tuesday 14th April 2015

Welcome back! We hope you have had a great break. We all did! 

The final term of Year 3 is here. Only 12 weeks left until the end of the school year, but do not worry, there are still lots and lots of fun things to look forward to.

End of Term 2

Friday 27th March 2015 

Where has the time gone? Term 2 complete and we are now two thirds of the way through the school year. I think we have been leaning on the fast forward button as this term has flown by. We have learnt a lot and we have enjoyed every minute of it. 

In today's improvement assembly we said a big WELL DONE to Katie for all her hard work

We also congratulated Savanna for great work in Japanese, Liam for great work in P.E. and Richard for super music work. 

Well done to you all! 

This week we also finished creating our Teeth Information Posters.

Finally we finished our DT work. Our challenge was to create an Easter box. We had a range of success criteria to follow and we had to cut, score, glue and colour very carefully. Once again head over to our pages to see our final results. 

All that we have left to say now is HAVE A FANTASTIC EASTER HOLIDAY. Remember the two Rs. READ and RELAX.
