Leaders of the future!

Tuesday 25th November 2014

Can you believe that Christmas is only a month away? Only two and a half weeks of term left!

In Literacy we are currently looking at character descriptions. We are thinking about how we can describe a characters personality and their appearance in interesting and exciting ways. Our aim is to engage the reader and bring the character alive. At the moment we are working hard to develop our vocabulary to describe a range of characters.

Here is an example of one of the characters we have looked at.

How would you describe this character?

In History, we became Ancient Egyptian leaders and had to decide where in the 'New World' we would build our new city. There were lots of things we had to consider. Once we had decided we had to address our people and persuade them to come with us. We had to think carefully about the surrounding areas and use our knowledge of where people settled to help us build a good persuasive argument. We had lots of fun trying to convince people.

In addition to all of this, we have also be looking Sikhism in Religious Education. Last week we looked at leaders and thought about the qualities of a good leader.

What do you think makes a good leader?

We then learnt all about Guru Nanak. We discussed his teachings and how he was a great leader through role playing different parts of the story we had watched.

Furthermore, we have started track sessions this half term. YAY!!
For the past two sessions the sky has been blue and the sun has been shining. We have enjoyed practising our catching, throwing and fielding skills.

We can not wait to go again.

Keep visiting our pages. We really enjoy reading your comments!
